IHG has 35 years of experience in Greater China, having opened its first Holiday Inn hotel in Beijing in 1984. Since then it has continued to grow, surpassing 100 open hotels in 2008 and double that number by 2013, with its 300th hotel following just four years later. IHG's next 100 properties have opened in less than two years.
